The Archiv der Avantgarden — Egidio Marzona (ADA), an archive of 20th-century avant-garde art, contains approximately 1.5 million artworks and other objects, making it one of the most comprehensive collections of its kind. Collector Egidio Marzona began to amass the archive in the late 1960s and continued in the decades that followed. The ADA helps trace the artistic ideas and numerous radical utopias of the century and brings to light the amazing interconnectedness of artists.

An Oral History Archive

WE ARE AVANT-GARDE!

WIR SIND AVANTGARDE! is a documentation and research project on the history and significance of the Archiv der Avantgarden - Egidio Marzona (ADA). The films, which have been produced since 2020, document conversations about the practice and motivation of collecting, about the concept and content of the ADA as well as about the artistic approaches and strategies represented therein and their social contexts. The collected film conversations will gradually give rise to a separate "archive of the archive".
